Stefflon and Burna confirmed their separation sometime in 2021. The couple started dating in 2019 after meeting at a vocation in Ghana. Stefflon Don, a British Jamaican rapper, has indicated that she does not care about Burna Boy’s relationship because they are no longer together. She made this statement in response to questions about rekindling her romance with the Grammy winner.
In an interview with GRM Daily, Steff discussed her recent fallout with fellow Jamaican celebrity Jada Kingdom over Burna Boy. She called the interviewer “funny” after misinterpreting his question regarding rekindling her relationship to refer to Burna Boy rather than Jada, to whom the interview was actually directed.
Remember how Stefflon Don and Jada Kingdom got into a heated argument over the former’s new song, “Dat A Dat,” in which she claimed that an unidentified lady had slept with her partner? The former was reportedly back in the spotlight following her breakup with Burna Boy. But it didn’t take long for Burna Boy to reply to Stefflon Don, considering her purported affair with Jada Kingdom.
Speaking about their rift, Stefflon Don stated that because she was no longer with Burna Boy, she didn’t give a damn about their supposed affair. She insisted that her diss track wasn’t directed towards Jada, highlighting how “cool” they were despite never having been friends.
She said, “We [me and Jada] used to be cool. And the situation that happened [Burna and Jada’s alleged affair], I wasn’t even with him [Burna Boy then]. I don’t even care what he is doing.
“I didn’t care about that situation. Not a little bit. Jada and I were never friends but we’ve linked once or twice. In the song, I said my man, not my ex. That [Burna Boy] was my ex.”
The interviewer asked:
“In the future do you see yourselves rekindling at all?”
Stefflon Don replied:
“[laughs] You are funny? I don’t know.”
The interviewer:
“Cause you are two powerful strong women.”
Stefflon Don:
“Oh! You are talking about me and Jada? I thought you were talking about me and Burna. That’s funny.”
Burna and Stefflon declared their separation at some point in 2021. After meeting during a Ghanaian vocational training, the couple started dating in 2019. It was reported in April 2024 that Burna Boy had given Stefflon Don a car for her birthday, which sparked rumors that the couple had resumed their affair. The duo has not verified or refuted the claims.
