Nigerian artists, Tems, Burna boy Femi Kuti and Made Kuti has bagged nominations at the 6th Grammy Award.
The official nomination list was announced at the ceremony yesterday and Big Wiz snagged two nominations.
Wizkid’s Made In Lagos Deluxe edition got nominated for the “Best Global Music Album” alongside Rocky Dawuni, Angelique Kidjo, Femi Kuti and Made Kuti’s albums. Recall the Best Global Music Album is the same category Burna Boy won last year with his Twice as Tall album.
His song with Tems, Essence received nomination for the Best Global Music Performance. If Wizkid wins the award, Tems will also be getting an award for her contribution to Essence and Wizkid’s album.
Burna Boy will also be receiving another Grammy award for his contribution to Angelique Kidjo’s album, Mother Nature if it beats Wizkid’s for the Best Global Music Award.
The Father and son duo Femi Kuti and Made Kuti’s album, Legacy also received a nomination for the Best Global Music Album. This is the same category Wizkid and Angelique Kidjo was nominated for.
The 2022 Grammys` main event will air on January 31, 2022, at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on the CBS Television Network.
