Tems is set to thrill the audience at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards.
In a post via X on Thursday, Billboard revealed that Tems will perform at the event scheduled for March 6 at the YouTube Theater in California, USA.
“BREAKTHROUGH honoree @temsbaby will take the stage at the show for a performance on March 6 in Los Angeles,”
Billboard wrote.
The singer will also be honoured with a Breakthrough Award’ at this year’s event.
Other award recipients include Victoria Monét, Ice Spice, NewJeans, Maren Morris, Kylie Minogue, Charli XCX, Luísa Sonza, and Young Miko.
Billboard disclosed that the honourees for the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards “demonstrate the degree to which music has become a global enterprise”.
The singer is the only Nigerian artiste who would be recognized at the ceremony.
Born Temilade Openiyi, Tems gained global recognition in 2020, courtesy of her collaboration with Wizkid on the song Essence’.
She has since established a name for herself in the Nigerian music industry, earning several awards and accolades.
In February 2023, the songstress won her first-ever Grammy award.
She bagged the Best Melodic Rap Performance’ category for her role in Wait for U’, the 2022 hit song by Future featuring Drake.
Tems had previously revealed that she started making music because “I did not have friends”.
She said music is her way of expressing her mind and connecting with people.
