Tiwa Savage Praises Mavo, Calls New Gen Artists “Proactive and Self-Driven”
Tiwa Savage is shining a light on the mindset of the new generation of artists, highlighting their independence and forward-thinking approach in a recent interview with Rolling Stone.
Speaking on her interaction with Mavo, Tiwa Savage shared how impressed she was by his level of initiative and business awareness.
“I recently sat down with Mavo. When he was talking, he was like his own boss already. He had his own merch, he even talked about opening a new café and showed me the design,” she said.
She went on to reflect on the broader shift happening within the industry, noting that emerging artists are no longer waiting for traditional structures or validation. Instead, they’re building independently—creating their own ecosystems, connecting directly with fans, and taking control of their creative and business directions.
“The new generation are not waiting. They’re so proactive and building their own community,” she added.
Her comments capture a defining shift in today’s music landscape—where talent is now matched with strategy, ownership, and a clear sense of vision from the very start.
