Inside Tyla’s Nature-Inspired Recording Camp for Her Upcoming Album, A*POP
South African superstar Tyla has given fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of her upcoming album, A*POP, revealing that she completed the project in a unique recording camp surrounded by nature in South Africa.
Sharing videos of the setup on Instagram, the Grammy-winning singer explained that she wanted the creative process to reconnect her with childhood memories by recording in the bush rather than a traditional studio environment.
“I finished it in South Africa. We did the camp & set up studios in the bushes. I wanted it to feel like where I used to go as a child. Just nature, waking up with monkeys everywhere & bugs. I wanted the people I was working on the album with to feel that.”
According to Tyla, the unconventional setting was intentional, allowing everyone involved in the album to immerse themselves in the peaceful surroundings and draw inspiration from the natural environment. The videos showcase a makeshift studio nestled in the bush, offering fans a glimpse into the intimate atmosphere where much of A*POP came to life.
