Tyla has shared a funny and relatable story about her first interaction with global superstar Rihanna at the Met Gala.
Speaking about the encounter, Tyla revealed that she approached Rihanna during last year’s event to introduce herself, but the moment quickly turned awkward in an unexpectedly humorous way.

“I met her last year. She was cool… I think she was occupied. I went up to her and was like, ‘Oh, hey, you know…’ and she was like, ‘Hey, um — my baby daddy is calling me,’ and then she left.”
The South African star admitted the interaction left her feeling slightly awkward, which influenced her decision not to approach Rihanna again at this year’s Met Gala, despite standing close to her while waiting for her car.
“Maybe she was busy. I felt awkward. So this time, I was waiting for my car and she was right there. So I didn’t want to go up.”
