The Nigerian music industry can be called a lot of things, but one thing is for sure, it is always buzzing. From old to new music, from gospel to secular, from live performances to videos, music is everywhere in Nigeria. One musician amongst many who has made a major buzz recently is Mercy Chinwo. She made the headlines when a throwback video of her performing the famous Fela Kuti hit song βΛZombie` on Nigerian Idol`s stage resurfaced.
Mercy Chinwo made a grand entrance as she was brought out of a box onto the stage. The audience and judges alike were mesmerised and captivated by her energetic performance; she had the audience captivated throughout her performance. Even Femi Kuti, Fela`s eldest son and one of the judges, was more delighted than ever.
The clip went viral on social media, and it sparked numerous reactions from users, many of whom were shocked to know that Mercy Chinwo was a participant in Nigerian Idol, and that she sang a secular song.
