Superstar musician, David Adeleke, better known as Davido has revealed he and Chioma Rowland got married during their grieving moment over the death of their 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
According to Tribune Online, the singer and Chioma`s decision to wed was driven by their desire to support each other and stay strong as a family during the challenging time.
Davido who dropped his highly anticipatedΒ βΛTimeless`Β album on Friday, 31st March, disclosed that he faced numerous challenges in the last few months. He explained that he had to be a pillar of strength for Chioma, not only as her lover but also as her husband, in order to face their difficult situation together.
βAt that moment, we went through a lot together and we had to be there for each other to get through that moment and be ready for what was coming-Timeless. Now that we have crossed over that moment, it is time to show the world that I am ready for this,βΒ Davido said.
The Afrobeat sensation revealed that βTimelessβ underwent at least three different phases before the final version was settled upon.
Although the album features several high-energy tracks with good vibes, the singer acknowledged that grieving the loss of his son had an impact on the project.
He said:
βBefore my son passed on, we had finished the album. But it was a tragic situation and I really had to calm myself down and take a step back.β
βOn the album, you will hear a couple of songs that might take you back and into some emotions βΒ¦ you will definitely hear me talk about a couple of things I`ve been through personally.β
