Cape Town-based Afro Beat sensation Chukason Don visualizes and preaches rebirth with visuals for his single New Born Fela, set to premiere on the 24th of November 2023. This spectacle explores the rebirth of the African man, holistically, whilst highlighting the essence of the African woman in the process. It expresses both his ego battles as well as spiritual ones but emphasizes the rebirth of the Spirit.
To accentuate rebirth, Chukason Don is portrayed to be “The Original African Man” himself, Fela Kuti. This highlights the kingliness of Chukason Don. A thought that is further accentuated is that “there cannot be an African man without mother Africa”, prayers of an African woman hold an immense amount of anointing. We also see Don being chased by people whom he later shows the light, this is to highlight him as a forgiving person, which is the key element to living life. Giving life to those who wish death upon themselves.
