Wizkid’s “Fever” f. Tiwa Savage released on the 1st of October, 2018, a day that happened to be the day the 58th Independence day of Nigeria was celebrated.
“Fever” on its arrival was welcomed with mixed reactions from music fans as a lot of people thought the song is a disappointing effort from Wizkid while others disagreed and feel it is a great effort from him.
Although “Fever” was met with less exciting reactions from music fans due to the fact that they expected a song with extra finesse after being made to wait for over 9 months till his official single of 2018 dropped, it didn`t, however, affect it from going on to be a major hit in that year as the video did the magic.
The video created a lot of buzz and controversies on social media as then Mavin Diva, Tiwa Savage was adopted as a video vixen by Wizkid in the video which was full of sultry and sexy-hot scenes. The move to use Tiwa Savage as the vixen in the video propelled massive interest in the video which gathered a record-breaking 1 million views in 24 hours on YouTube. It has now reached over 56 million views since then. The song was produced by Blaqjerzee and the video directed by Meji Alabi.
