US Rapper Sean Diddy, also known as Sean “Diddy” Combs, was taken into custody by federal agents on Monday evening at a hotel in Manhattan, New York.
The arrest of US Rapper Sean Diddy followed a grand jury indictment, according to a source familiar with the case. This marks a significant development in the legal troubles that have surrounded Diddy for almost a year, largely stemming from a civil lawsuit filed by his former partner, Cassie Ventura. The lawsuit has reportedly led to at least ten additional legal claims against him.
Despite these accusations, US Rapper Sean Diddy has consistently denied all allegations. While the specific charges have not been publicly disclosed by the prosecutors, Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, claiming the prosecution is unjust.
Agnifilo highlighted that US Rapper Sean Diddy had voluntarily travelled to New York in preparation for these charges, stating, “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. US Rapper Sean Diddy is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist.”
The lawyer also added that while Diddy is not perfect, he is far from being a criminal. “To his credit, Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation, and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court,” Agnifilo concluded.
In other related news, US Rapper Sean Diddy filed a motion to dismiss the $30 million sexual assault claims brought against him by Lil Rod. Rod had accused Diddy of constant groping and possible drug-induced rape. Earlier in February, Jones filed the lawsuit just weeks before federal agents raided two of Combs’ homes amid a sex trafficking investigation. Jones claimed he was ordered to recruit prostitutes and engage in sexual acts for Diddy’s pleasure, alleging that he had hundreds of hours of video evidence documenting the rapper’s illegal activities.
US Rapper Sean Diddy has denied all of Lil Rod’s sexual assault allegations. At the time of these accusations, Diddy was already facing lawsuits from three other women and had lost various commercial deals in the wake of the claims. In response to Jones’ second amended lawsuit, US Rapper Sean Diddy filed new court documents in Manhattan Federal Court, accusing Jones of exploiting him for financial gain.
The filing stated: “Jones’ Second Amended Complaint is his third attempt to dress up a run-of-the-mill commercial disagreement as a salacious RICO conspiracy.” Diddy’s legal team argued that Jones’ lawsuit was filled with “countless tall tales” and “irrelevant celebrity namedrops” but failed to present any viable legal claims against Combs.
Diddy’s lawyer, Erica Wolff, added that Jones’ lawsuit was nothing but a “shameless attempt” to create media hype and force a quick settlement. She firmly denied that there was any RICO conspiracy or that Jones was groomed, assaulted, or trafficked.
The documents also revealed that Jones had posted a video on social media, laughing about the lawsuit and joking about the money Diddy would allegedly owe him. In the video, Jones, along with performer Uncle Murda, made threats and demanded that Diddy pay him “that money by Monday,” further suggesting that the lawsuit was part of a calculated strategy to profit from the exposure.
Diddy’s motion to dismiss Lil Rod’s sexual assault claims emphasized that the allegations lacked any detailed evidence, especially regarding the claims of sexual assault and harassment. The motion also pointed out that any breach of oral contract claim had surpassed the statute of limitations.
