On Tuesday, July 30, Onyeka Onwenu died shortly after performing at the 80th birthday celebration of Stella Okoli, the founder of Emzor Pharmaceuticals. After her performance, Onwenu reportedly returned to her seat and suddenly collapsed. She was quickly transported to Reddington Hospital in Lagos but was pronounced dead upon arrival. She was 72 years old.
