Olawale Ashimi (born  on 9 May 1986), popularly known as Brymo is a Nigerian singer, composer, songwriter and recording artist formerly signed to the Chocolate City Record label. Born to a carpenter father and a petty trading mother, Ashimi started his musical career early as he wrote his first song at age 14. While in secondary school, he formed a band called Aliens with three friends. An active member of the group, he was the main song writer and composer for the group till they went their separate ways.

As a solo artiste not signed to any record label, he together with the help of a local talent spotter released his debut album “Brymstone”. A while after that, he released a single titled ” Shawdy” whose music video climbed to the number two spot on MTV Base Africa top 10 countdown as well as Nigezee top 10. In 2012 with the help of MI, Brymo got signed under Chocolate City where he released his “The SonOfaKapenta” album before leaving the following year.  The album contained hit singles “Ara” and “Good Morning”.

Outside Choclate City, Brymo released his third album “Merchants, Dealers & Slaves” which contains the single titled “Down”. He has featured on several tracks by different musicians the likes of MI, 2Shotz, SashaP and most notably Ice Prince on the hit single Oleku which gained enormous airplay. He has also gotten several award nominations including 2012 Hip Hop World Awards  and 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards where he won Recording of the Year (“Ara”) and Most Gifted Afro Pop video of the Year (“Ara”) respectively.
