Lara George


Lara George, born in Lagos, Nigeria to Mr & Mrs. Oluwole Bajomo is the fourth of five children in her family. She began her musical journey in her Alma mater school choir, Queens’ College Yaba, Lagos where she first got the opportunity to take a lead role in a song.

While studying architecture at the University of Lagos, she joined the group “Rock solid” which belongs to a campus fellowship called Rock Foundation Mission, she later met some other talented singers Ty Bello, Emem and Dapo and together they formed “KUSH”. This marked the beginning of Lara’s professional career. Before the group split up, KUSH  received many international awards and record deals.


After taking a 2-year break from the music scene, Lara re-launched her music career  as a solo artist with her debut album titled ‘Forever In My heart’ which contains hit Single “Ijoba Orun’. The much-celebrated album earned Lara several nominations and awards such as ‘Voice of the Year 2008’ Nigeria Music Awards, as well as ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Female Artiste of the Year’, Nigeria Gospel Music Awards 2009 . So far, she has released 3 albums which have earned her rave reviews and several nominations including winning ‘Trailblazer of the Year’ – Africa Gospel Music Awards UK 2013. Best Female Gospel Artiste West Africa – Africa Gospel Music Awards 2013, Best Gospel Act – Nigeria Entertainment Awards 2011&2010, Best Vocals Female – Hip Hop World Awards 2008, Best Gospel Act – Nigeria Entertainment Awards USA 2008.

Lara George is happily married to Gbenga George, a legal practitioner as well as a music entrepreneur, and they both have two kids, a boy and a girl.
