“This Fool Wears “Aba-Made” More Than Anyone” – Nollwood Actors Blast Timaya Over Claims On Other Celebrities Wear Fake Items

Timaya has found himself in hot water after declaring that he doesn’t want to be compared to other Nigerian celebrities as they wear fake fashion items which he claims he doesn’t wear.

Timaya made a video which he posted on his Instagram page rejecting to be on the same list with other Nigerian celebrities after a fashion website made the list of top 10 fashion conscious Nigerian entertainers. The singer has now started to get a backlash for the statement with some Nigerian Nollywood actors throwing some indirect jibes at him while others are throwing direct ones.

One particular actor has called him a fool saying he is the one who wears fashion products more than anyone else in the industry.

Abeg forget that Timaya, even if he wears top world designers; he will still look like plantain seller or even conductor. If celebrities dey talk, he too go follow talk.

I don’t understand Nigerians especially our so called celebrities, shouldn’t they be promoting made in Nigeria goods. We should buy their albums and pay for their shows with Nigerian Naira then they spend the money elsewhere, improving foreign economy.

Made in Nigeria designs and fashion is something to be proud about. Late Fela, Sunny Ade, Onyeka Onwenu, Dr. Okonjo iweala, Obasanjo, Atiku, Buhari, Yemi Alade, Femi Kuti etc all were Nigerian designed clothes and they look beautiful in them…what’s the big deal about patronising Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, CK etc…when it does not improve our economy or textile sector.

Mental and spiritual poverty. That’s the problem. Otherwise no normal celebrity or not will rate the products of his own country and handwork of the same people that raised him from the slum lowly. But it’s naija.

Nigeria is really a great nation.we need to be proud of of our textiles. I blamed timaya for talking out of senses. Timaya is not patriotic at all by not proud of aba made. But ik orwhat’s ever he called him self is just not patriotic also to the nation. Meanwhile the two of them are not patrotc, they need to be canned.

Most of the celebrities, are entertainers and show business personalities. Appearance matters so much to them because they believe that the way they appear determines the societal perception of them as a success or a failure. Where they source their outfits is entirely up to them.
However, in real life, the apparel does not make a man or a woman. Great men are not fashion conscious. There is a wide gap between a great person and a famous person and by extension a celebrity.
